Ok, I've found a good one for you: Murderball. This is easily one of the best documentaries I have seen. This fast-paced film is about quadriplegic rugby players (yes, quadriplegics can play rugby...and as the film shows they can also swim, drive, throw back beers, and pick up girls at bars). It follows the story of the U.S. Paralympics Quadriplegic Rugby Team and their quest for gold in Athens in 2004. A fierce rivalry with the Canadian team keeps the story moving forward, but it is of course the personalities who really make the film memorable. The cocky team leader who reconciles with the friend who put him in his wheelchair, the obsessive player-turned-coach who has no time for his intellectual son, and the young former biker who discovers wheelchair rugby for the first time are just a few of the individuals who will stick with you after the credits roll.
Trust me, you won't regret it - this one's as fun as it is fascinating. Murderball is rolling into a theatre near you soon - so check it out!
