Though marathon runners are not celebrated in the US the way that (in some cases, out-of-shape, overpaid, and all-around general asshole) NFL/NBA/MLB players are, these are - without question - some of the world's finest athletes. Just check out the news clips this week of the men's photo-finish at today's NYC Marathon...these guys have guts like you have never seen, and a camaraderie that would be mocked at in many pro-sports locker rooms...
