AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH debuted at #11 at the box office....not too shabby for a film that opened in FOUR theatres nation wide! To give you some perspective as to what this film is up against:
- The #1 movie for the same week, THE DA VINCI CODE, is playing in 3,735 theatres
- The #10 movie AN AMERICAN HAUNTING (right above AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH) is playing in 1,265
So given that a #11 debut with a 4 theatre opening - pretty fucking fantastic!
If you're in LA or NYC its imperative that you go see this film this weekend so that is stays alive and spreads! If it does well it will open next in San Fran, Boston, DC, Phili and Chicago....and then beyond....
...and then (the wheels are turning now...) people everywhere will get fired up and demand change...And then Washington will have to listen and finally take action...And America will no longer be the major cause of this crisis, but a part of the solution! And then our kids will live in a cleaner and safer world! And the world will be a peaceful place!!!!! And then the worl--ok, sorry, getting a bit ahead of myself....
(...but at least, maybe more people will recycle!)
