This Sucks
While for a variety of reasons I was leaning towards casting my vote for Barack Obama next Tuesday, and while this news is not shocking, I am still deeply saddened by this, as it just highlights the total bull shit that makes up the democracy we all live so proudly under. Edwards was a solid candidate for office and a good choice for those Democrats disillusioned by the politicking going on between the Obama and Clinton camps. And the fact that the primary voting done in a few states is enough to take one of the only viable choices out of the running for the rest of the Democrats in this country shows how totally fucked up our entire system is. Not that we don't already know this - remember 2000 anyone? THIS COUNTRY DID NOT CHOOSE GEORGE BUSH TO LEAD US, THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE DID! And if you've been paying even the slightest bit of attention you know as well that its been fucked up from the beginning....my vote counts less than my friends in LA because they live in California and I am in NY.
But lets be sure to attack another country for their God-given right (make sure to include God in there because if you listen to anyone on the Right you know that you cannot possibly have Democracy without God, you heathen moron) to cast a vote that may only count slightly less than another guy you know who lives in a more populated area.....
