After a disappointing showing at the Ironman Hawaii this past fall my athletic hero/inspiration/obsession Desiree Ficker kicked ass by winning in the first Ironman 70.3 South Africa. Its always great to see an athlete like this bounce back after a disappointment - its very motivating! Maybe she will (finally!) update her blog now...
Also I can add another "Races Must Do In My Life" list - South Africa has always been my dream vacation spot so this race is now going to have to be on the itinerary.
